The AMPS Senior Choir had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the 3rd Annual Vocês Libres Chamber Choir Festival, hosted at NG Kerk Alberton Wes.

The festival brought together talented choirs from different backgrounds to celebrate their shared love of music. Our AMPS singers enjoyed showcasing their talents, connecting with fellow singers and being part of a beautiful musical experience.

The concert concluded on a high note as all the choirs joined together for a mass choir performance, celebrating the power of music to unite us all.

Junior and senior athletes alike delivered outstanding performances across a range of events, including sprints, hurdles, middle-distance races, long jump, high jump and shot put.

We are proud to announce that AMPS claimed an impressive overall victory against Laerskool Dalview, securing 768 points compared to Dalview’s 312 points — a remarkable winning margin of 456 points!

Congratulations to all our athletes on their outstanding performances. You have made us proud!

GIVE YOUR STATIONERY A SECOND LIFE!

Do you have stationery at home that is still in good condition but no longer being used? Give it a second chance to make a difference!

AMPS is collecting pre-loved stationery to create stationery packs for children in our community who need them. Every pencil, ruler, exercise book and crayon can help make a difference in a child’s education.

Where to donate: Drop off your donations in the collection box in the Grade Head’s classroom.

Tessellation in Action: Grade 6

Learners Transform Patterns into Art

This term, the Trade 6 learners explored the fascinating world of tessellation—the art of covering a surface with repeated shapes without any gaps or overlaps. Using the knowledge they gained about transformations—including translations, rotations, reflections, and enlargements—they created vibrant and visually striking patterns.

From simple geometric designs to more complex, interlocking shapes, the learners showed creativity and mathematical thinking in equal measure. Their understanding of how shapes can move and fit together beautifully came to life through their artworks, which now brighten up our classroom walls.

It was inspiring to see how mathematics can go beyond numbers to become a form of creative expression. Well done, Grade 6s!
