SPCA Blankets

SPCA Blankets 150 150 schoolman

Mrs van Dijk along with the staff of Gr6 and Gr7 asked learners to collect blankets for the cold months of winter on behalf of the SPCA. Due to time constraints the children had less than two weeks to bring blankets to the school, and on top of that we had public holidays in between which gave the school even less time for the blanket collection.

Despite the time constraints the two grades managed to bring in money and over 80 blankets for the SPCA. Thank you Grade 6 and Grade 7 children for helping we know the animals will be very very happy and hopefully we can keep a few of them nice and warm during the colder months.

1.7 Tonnes!

We want to say a big thank you to all the parents and learners for their generous food donations towards our SPCA competition this year. We also had many donations of money, toys, blankets and treats! Mrs D van Dijk started the yearly SPCA competition 6 years ago where the school collected one car full of food – Over the last 6 weeks of 2014 AMPS went from one car of food, to 1.7 tonnes of cat and dog food!

AMPS is proud of the parents, learners and staff who made the effort to make this Christmas Season a happy one for the animals at the Kempton Park SPCA. We are also proud to say that from this year AMPS is supporting a kennel and we look forward to working with the SPCA for many years to come. Please support the charity organisations of South Africa!

SPCA

We are collecting for the SPCA yet again in the hopes of giving the animals some goodies. We hope to collect food and money and make this a record for AMPS – we can only do this with the help of the parents and children!

The collection will end on the 25th November 2011 and we have created a competition which will hopefully encourage the children to bring some money/food. Let’s help the animals at the SPCA because it’s the right thing to do! The points work as follows:

Scoring System

1 point for a small can of food, a food sachet, gravy or a small toy

2 points for a big tin of food, 500g-1.5kg of food or a big toy

5 points for a blanket, basket or 1.6-3kg of food.

10 points for 3.1kg-7kg of food

15 points for 7.1kg or more of food
