Snow!

Snow! 150 150 schoolman

Aston Manor Primary School snow

The children were very excited yesterday as many of them experienced snow for the first time. (Some teachers were just as excited) We got one or two photos but not many as it happened during class time. The cars driving past gave the children on the field a friendly snowy “hello hoot” as they passed by.

The learners and teachers of Aston Manor Primary School gave three wheelchairs to children in desperate need of them.

A very big “Thank You” goes out to the learners, teachers and many other people who collected over 110 kg of bread tags (a toothpick weighs more than these bread tags!) which were then sent to Interwaste for recycling and in return we received 7 wheelchairs, Three of which were handed over on the 30th May 2012. Three children – Vuyo, Vincent and Fortunate -were identified with the help of Mrs Leona Scheepers of the Community Outreach Program or COP.

The End

The End schoolman

Well it’s been a very busy year with the school concert, sports days, fun days, raffles and teachers vs kids days, prize givings and exams. We recently had our annual prize giving and Goosey had their Graduation today.  We thank the parents who managed to come around and support the children.

We would also like to congratulate the open team Cricket boys as they took on the “old toppies” in a game of cricket yesterday. We decided to let them win the game because we felt sorry for them…

Congratulations to the children we named prefects for 2012 as well as those learners who have been selected as monitors.

Please travel safe and look after yourselves during this festive season.

Report Cards

Remember that report cards can be collected on the 9th of December 2011 from 08:00-10:00 As soon as learners have collected their report cards they can go home.

Wall of Remembrance

Wall of Remembrance schoolman

As many of you may be aware, we are in the process of establishing a “Wall of Remembrance” for Aston Manor Primary.
This wall will be dedicated to any pupils, staff and governing body members who have attended AMPS from its establishment in 1971 and who have since then passed away.

If you would be interested in donating funds towards the completion of this project it would be greatly appreciated.
Please contact our offices on +27119702171 or email admin@amps.za.com.

We are looking at compiling a register, If you would like to inform the school of anyone having passed away, please send an email. We will require a copy of the death certificate for record purposes, as well as the contact details/full name of the person who supplied the school with the relevant details.
“We meet but briefly in life, if we touch each other with stardust – that is everything.”
