Kidshaven Blankets 150 150 schoolman

Last Friday we had a disco to raise funds to buy blankets for the needy. This Kidshaven Orphanage enjoyed recieving their blankets – Just look at the smiles!

Special thanks to Mrs Hatton and her daughter Casandra who dropped off blankets for the up and coming chilly winter. These will hopefully be used to keep some little hands and feet just that little bit warmer during the colder days.

Another massive thank you to Chad Rossi and his family for collecting a very large quantity of breadtags. Chad is in grade 1 in Mrs Domingo’s class and he collected two BIG boxes of breadtags which will be used towards getting another wheelchair for the less fortunate!

Here is a picture of Chad with his class – Thanks big man!

As most of the Parents and children at AMPS know we have been collecting bread tags for some time. This has been managed and run buy our Media Centre lady Miss Crichton. We have managed to raise enough to get seven wheelchairs for charity!

Thanks to the children and their families this has been very successful and now Our Lady of Loretta (A Catholic Church – here in Kempton Park) have also started collecting tags.

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you out to the church, it’s staff and congregation for helping us in collecting, the church has already donated a sizable amount of bread tags. This will definitely help us towards collecting enough for another 2 wheelchairs (fingers crossed)

Don’t forget to keep collecting your plastic bread tags, not only is this a good way to recycle it’s a good way to help those less fortunate than others! You can send bread tags directly to the school office or with your children if they attend AMPS.

Thank you to those parents that have been continually collecting – you’re effort is always appreciated!

AMPS-slidathon-feb-2013-11

We all had a great time at the Fun Day. Despite the threatening weather the day went very well and we didn’t get cooked by the sun which was a bonus. The Ghost house was very fun and everybody got wet, kids…and teachers…

Thanks to the staff who helped ensure the day went off well without too many problems (despite 800+ wet children running around) Thank you to the parents who supported the event by letting children participate.

We’ve added the Interschool Photos you can find them on our Google+ page and Facebook Page. Congratulations to the athletes who managed to place AMPS second out of the Seven Schools who participated. Monday was really really hot and Tuesday morning was just as cold but despite the extremes in temperature  the athletes and coaches did a great job. We hosted the event this year and are happy to say everything went very well!

At AMPS we consistently try to improve all aspects of education and upgrading our ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) is no exception. As such we have been working on a complete e-learning course to assist learners. Children attending their weekly computer class will need to follow and complete the lessons provided by the e-learning suite (Using sound is an invaluable component of these lessons).

Headsets complete the learning suite by incorporating audio (a proven method of teaching) this ensures your children will remember and implement what they have learnt.

We require learners from Gr.4 to Gr.7 read more
