Thank you, Aston Manor Primary School, for choosing Naleli Foundation as part of your Nelson Mandela Day initiative and for collecting nearly 300 teddies for children in hospital. 
Each teddy will now begin a very special journey. They will be carefully washed, sanitised, lovingly wrapped and packaged, before being delivered into the arms of a child who is sick in hospital.
Some children may only spend a few nights or weeks in a ward. Others spend months, and sometimes years, going in and out of hospital as it becomes such a big part of their childhood.
Your teddies give them something of their very own to cuddle through the scary days – during procedures, treatments and long waits. And perhaps even more importantly, something to hold onto at night, when the ward becomes quiet and the absence of home and family can be felt the most.
To every child who chose to part with a teddy they once loved — thank you. 
Your teddy has already shared adventures, bedtime cuddles and special memories with you. Now it is their turn to find a new little person to love, comfort and make new adventures with.
What a beautiful way to live out the heart of Mandela Day – giving something of ourselves so that someone else may feel a little more loved.
